The Magnetom Essenza is a 1.5T MRI equipment capable of acquiring higher resolution images at a shorter time. A wide range of MRI examinations including but not limited to Magnetic Resonance Angiography (MRA) and Magnetic Resonance Venography (MRV) can be carried out with this state of the art equipment.
The luminous dRF digital fluoroscopic equipment can provide all range of fluoroscopic examinations.
The Multix Fusion digital x-ray machine is a ceiling suspended x-ray equipment used for general radiographic examinations.
The Mammomat Fusion is a digital mammographic machine used for screening and diagnostic breast imaging. The machine has the capability to carry out both 2D and stereotactic biopsies thereby guiding the physician directly to the lesion.
The Somatom Perspective is a 64 slice CT equipment used to carry out all ranges of CT investigations including CT angiography, CT urography amongst others.
The Acuson S1000 ultrasound machine is used of a wide range of ultrasound examinations. The machine has the capability for all Doppler investigations as well as 3D/4D images.
These equipment are all connected to the syngo Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) software where images are stored and retrieved at will.
The department also has in its inventory the Mobilett Mira which is a digital mobile x-ray machine used for ward radiography, accident and emergency examinations. Additionally, the department provides support to the operating theatre particularly during orthopaedic procedures with its Cios Connect, a digital C-arm x-ray machine.
The department is headed by a Consultant Radiologist who leads a team of highly trained Radiologists, Sonographers, Radiographers and Radiography Assistants.
The department is connected to the public power supply however, in a bid to ensure uninterrupted power supply, there are three online UPS systems which power the department immediately when there is power outage. Furthermore, a 150KVA and 350KVA generators are on standby and automatically take over from the UPS. Thus ensuring regular uninterrupted power supply.
