Nigerian Navy Reference Hospital Calabar is equipped with a modern emergency unit. The Emergency unit is sited to ensure ease of access. The ambulance bay provides for ease of transfer of patients from the ambulances into the modern emergency unit. The unit has 10 emergency response vehicles fitted with resuscitation equipment and advanced first aid capabilities. The emergency unit has adequate space for prompt triaging and response. Also available are observation stations for the more stabilized patients. Minor surgeries necessary for effective interventions in the event of medical emergencies are carried out in the mini theatre within the unit.
